Spring is in the air
Flowers are everywhere
Daffodils, Wordsworth’s delight
Or wonderfully odd Birds of Paradise
Peonies and Cherry Blossoms abloom
More than enough to fill a room
Beautiful hues the landscape adorn
Makes the land no longer forlorn
The ugly brown begins to fade
Patches of green begin to hold sway
The robin appears to announce today
That spring is finally here again.
Temperatures soar and energy rises
For the annual ritual of gardening
Hoe and rake begin appearing
It’s planted in hope of mid-summer prizes
I close my eyes, the sun soaks in
I’m thankful that it’s spring again.
